SpiriTel Plc operates through two divisions: SpiriTel Business provides a full suite of communication products that answers the complete communications requirements of small privately owned businesses to multinationals. SpiriTel Technologies focuses on infrastructure, advanced IP engineering support and network services to leading UK telecommunications network operators.

History

1989

  • Company founded to provide payphones, voice services, installation and maintenance.

2000

  • Technologies division is set up and establishes itself as a leading wholesale voice and data provider to most of the UK’s largest Telcos.

2004

  • Admission to the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.

2005

  • Alastair Mills appointed CEO and new B2B resellerstrategy pursued following launch of SpiriTel Business. Restructure and turnaround process commences

2006

  • Consolidation strategy commences with two reseller acquisitions in two months, expanding the company’s voice and data services.

2007

  • SpiriTel restructured into two divisions: SpiriTel Technologies develops next generation IP network to support B2B proposition and grows wholesale voice operations; SpiriTel Business provides fully integrated voice and data services direct to business customers.
  • Two further acquisitions completed, expanding the company’s product portfolio and customer base.
  • SpiriTel is awarded UK’s largest hosted VoIP and WiFi contract, covering 100 sites across the UK.
  • Exclusive managed service agreement with Virgin Mobile for SpiriTel's 118 918 directories service. Alastair launches service with Richard Branson, which goes on to win Best Newcomer at the 118 Directory Inquiries Awards.
 

2008

  • SpiriTel announces fifth acquisition of leading O2/TMobile reseller.
  • SpiriTel announces sixth acquisition of Brighton based network services company.
  • SpiriTel is awarded managed service contract with one of the UK’s leading hospitality companies

2009

  • SpiriTel wins major private voice network contract with a leading international hotel group, replacing BT as the provider of the customer's private UK voice service.
  • SpiriTel wins network services and hosted VoIP contract with a major European hotel group.
  • SpiriTel announces seventh and eighth acquisitions of converged communication companies.

2010

  • SpiriTel announces four more acquisitions, expanding the company's product offering and geographical range with new offices in both Cardiff and Glasgow.
  • Twelve acquisitions later, SpiriTel operates with over 100 staff, a next generation IP network and nationwide engineering coverage, generating revenues over £20m from a growing SME and enterprise customer base. 
  • The company is recognised as being at the forefront of IP-based products and services including hosted VoIP and converged mobile offerings.

SpiriTel Business is dedicated to serving the communication needs of all business customers.  It is organised around three complementary product lines; Networks; fixed line voice, broadband and line rental, IP Communications; telephone systems, Wi-Fi, advanced range of IP networking services alongside traditional structured cabling and Mobile; voice and data services, including BlackBerry and other converged voice and data services.

SpiriTel’s portfolio is complemented with customer focused services including 24/7 customer care and nationwide engineering coverage.
